Things Have Really Changed in the Voiceover Industry, And Not Because Of AI.

I have a business background, and when I was new to the VO industry, I thought it was different.

I thought I had to do things differently with my business because this was a different kind of business. It was about acting after all.

I met with great coaches who said to get listed on online casting sites, but they were saturated with voiceover artists.

Or do direct email marketing in the same way everyone else was doing it, and commit to this activity for years before I could see tangible results.

“This is a hard business to break into," was something I heard frequently.

And I agree with that, but only if we do things the same way things have ALWAYS been done.

None of that sounded appealing to me because I knew there was a different way.

I was used to creating my own offers (big results, high level of service, accessibility, & premium prices) and selling them directly to my clients or businesses.

And then I had a lightbulb moment. “Wait, a minute! This business isn’t any different, in many respects, from my other businesses.”

All the same business principles apply to the VO industry too. And then I got really excited because I knew exactly what to do. Yay!

I didn’t have to be reliant on agents or online casting sites to do the VO work that would become my financial base. That meant I was free to go after the gigs I REALLY wanted to land.

I wanted to share this knowledge with all the other extremely talented and passionate VO’s out there who just want to live their dreams.

Do you remember why you got into this business in the first place?

I'm sure it wasn't to be confined to your booth doing work you aren't excited about...

Sweating like crazy, and wondering why you aren't being paid more.

You can choose a new, more empowering direction. We can do it together!

Instead of letting online casting sites or agents be your "makeshift employer", together, we can adopt an entrepreneurial mindset.

We can create offers with our voiceover services that give us more money, and give us time away from our booth to do what we love…

❇️Without making sure we respond to a Fiverr message to make sure our stats are up.

❇️Without being on call for auditions, even during the most important times in our lives. Or auditioning endlessly in a highly competitive market - without seeing enough results to move the needle or give you the freedom you really want.

❇️Without worrying that AI is going to take over the industry and push us out.

No, it's time for a VO revolution. It's time to do things differently.
